HR: Effectively Managing Restructures in your School or Trust

With budgets being squeezed by unfunded pay rises and costs increasing for everything from electricity and gas to paper supplies, many schools and trusts are in the unfortunate position where restructuring their team is the only way to balance their budget and protect their ability to offer education to the children in their care in future years.

A restructure and redundancy period in a school or trust is an unsettling time for all involved, and having those responsible for workforce planning knowledgeable about the restructure and redundancy process can help smooth the path for both those planning the changes and those affected by them.

This masterclass, led by an HR specialist with years of experience working in schools and trusts, guides workforce planners through the process of restructuring and redundancies, including the legal obligations, financial considerations and how to effectively plan for the future rather than just focus on the short term.

 The class also includes helpful information on how to support staff and students through the unsettling period of change around restructures.

Pippa Lloyd is a L7 qualified CIPD practitioner, and an experienced senior HR Manager in academy leadership. Pip has an innate understanding of how schools are ultimately people-organisations and has a demonstrable record of bringing together operational and strategic priorities, working with teams across the organisation to ensure student outcomes are maximised.
