OUTLINE
This advanced course is perfect for safeguarding leads who want to conduct thorough and effective audits of all elements of safeguarding within their school. Undertaking a safeguarding audit will assist any education setting in ensuring they are fully compliant with current legislation and guidance. It will enable them to identify what is working well in terms of policies, procedures, and practices as well as areas for improvement through effective stakeholder engagement. This masterclass will equip participants with the tools to undertake a self-audit of all aspects of safeguarding in their setting and support effective reporting through the governance structures. It is reflective of current legislation, guidance, best practice, and the requirements of the Ofsted inspection framework.

KEY LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand the safeguarding compliance framework including legislation, guidance, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Understand what aspects of safeguarding policies, procedures and practices would be subject to audit.
  • Understand the who and why of effective stakeholder engagement in a safeguarding audit.
  • Explore the different approaches and techniques that will support a safeguarding in your setting.

Glenys has extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding training and organisational development, together with governance and policy development achieved through a diverse career in the private, public and voluntary sectors. She is experienced in operating within complex environments with the ability to quickly engage stakeholders, providing a practical value–based approach to the development of individuals and organisations.
